2019 Mumbai Republic Day parade MMRDA float with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial model

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was appointed by the Maharashtra State Government to construct a memorial in honour of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on the land where Indu Mills once stood. A model of this memorial was on display as the tableau on the MMRDA float at the 2019 Mumbai Republic Day parade. 

2019 Republic Day Mumbai Police Float with Dog Squad

As part of the investigating team which checks out a crime scene, Mumbai Police has a special dog squad for the Crime Branch. There is also a dog squad as part of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The plan this year is to include women personnel, too, as handlers for the dog squad and about a dozen of the personnel have been selected for training to join the dog squad. 

It was thus thrilling to see the dogs with their handlers on the Mumbai Police float at the 2019 Republic Day celebrations at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
